Ingredient: Salt

Salt is an ingredient that is used constantly in Chefville. It is one of the easiest and hardest ingredients to acquire. All you have to do is visit your neighbors, complete your five actions for the day, and poof, you get a salt. Sounds easy right? What if you need 4 more salts for that next star, and you only have 3 neighbors left you haven't visited today? More Neighbors are needed then (Post on the Add Me! page, or my Facebook page to get more.)...and that's part of where the chore comes in. You sometimes end up needing SO much salt that its easy to fall asleep while clicking the next neighbor, five clicks, accept, next neighbor, five clicks, accept, next neighbor, five clicks....you see what I mean?

Salt is used in at least 18 different recipes. Its also used in at least 16 crafting recipes, which you can then use those parts to create at least 57 other dishes. Salt is one of the most needed ingredients in ChefVille, but you can only stack up twenty of them at a time. So if you have a day with a lot of free time, don't waste it just gathering up salt.

Chefville: Making Money

Howdy! I've put up a new video for everyone and anyone that is having a hard time keeping up with all the coin purchases on Chefville. Every week they're giving us some new quest that requires you to drop a few thousand coins on something you weren't planning to purchase.

Watch the video, let me know what you think.

Ingredient: Mixed Greens!

The ingredient Mixed Greens can be found right away when you start playing Chefville.

When you first open your new restaurant you won't see mixed greens anywhere on your map, however you can go shopping in the Marketplace. Clicking on the icon to take you to the market place, you're going to want to browse down to the Supplies tab. Then look through the pages until you start seeing plants. Mousing over the various plants you'll see something like, "Harvest this Potted Sunflower for Mixed Greens!" So if you buy yourself a Potted Sunflower, you'll be able to harvest yourself some mixed greens from it.

Some of the plants that produce Mixed Greens

You can harvest from your plant once every 10 minutes to receive one mixed green. You can buy as many plants as you'd like, or need, and harvest each one every 10 minutes, giving you a nearly limitless supply of greens. Unlike most ingredients you are unable to harvest your neighbors plants to try and get greens.

Mixed Greens are currently used in at least 9 recipes:

  • Classic Tomato Soup
  • Garden Salad
  • Greens and Sauteed Mushrooms
  • House Salad
  • Mushroom Flatbread
  • Pumpkin Casserole
  • Savory Onion Tart
  • Turkey Panini
  • Veggie Dip

Ingredient: Eggs

The ingredient Eggs is not found right away when you start playing Chefville.

As you progress through the game you'll unlock an area called "The Homestead". The Homestead contains the Chicken Coop, and can be found to the left of where you unlocked your Romance Pond. Later you'll receive a quest to upgrade your chicken coop to the Egg Freezer.

You can harvest from your chicken coop once every 30 minutes to receive one egg. After you have upgraded to the egg freezer, you will receive two eggs, but still only every 30 minutes. You can also harvest at your neighbors coop/freezer, for a chance to receive eggs. Additionally there are some dishes that your your neighbors have prepared that could yield an ingredient also.

Eggs are currently used in at least 15 recipes:
  • Cheddar Omelette
  • Chop Suey
  • Pad Thai
  • Chicken Cobb Salad
  • Mornin' French Toast
  • Southwestern Omelette
  • Quiche Barbara
  • Steak and Eggs
  • Macaroni
  • Fettuccine
  • Lasagna Pasta
  • Egg Noodles
  • Spaghetti

Eggs are also very diversified, in that they can be crafted into a bunch of other items themselves. They can be turned into Scrambled Eggs, Hard-Boiled Eggs, Poached Eggs, just to name a few. Eggs are also an ingredient in other crafted items, like Dough.
